Reviewing the CPPCC’s work in the past five years, Wang said the advisory body had put forward practical proposals for advancing the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area’s development.

HKSAR members of the committee have actively pushed forward the formulation and enactment of the National Security Law for Hong Kong, and expressed support for the National People’s Congress — the nation’s top legislature — in improving Hong Kong’s electoral system.

The committee also lodged solemn representations against interventions by the United States and some European countries on HKSAR affairs, firmly safeguarding China’s sovereignty, security and development interests, Wang said.
