A brand-new cruise ship is joining the Victoria Habour sightseeing business on Oct 1, making waves in Hong Kong’s local travel business which has been picking up steam in the pandemic age.

Catering to customers seeking a more luxurious experience, the 64-feet-long Oriental Pearl has four decks, can accommodate 486 passengers and features a large outdoor viewing slab.

Three tours will be operated daily, all setting off from the Hung Hom (South) ferry pier. The Tea Cruise sails at 3:15 pm eastward to Lei Yue Mun, the Twilight Cruise at 5:25 pm westward to Tsing Ma Bridge while the Symphony of Lights Cruise at 7 pm to make a round trip between West Kowloon and North Point along both sides of the harbor.

The Tea Cruise and Twilight Cruise both last one hour and 15 minutes, with adult tickets priced from HK$220 and HK$230 respectively. The Symphony of Lights Cruise lasts one hour and 30 minutes, with the adult ticket priced from HK$300. All tours include a set of food and drink and a digital photo taken by a professional photographer.

A COVID-19 vaccination incentive is on offer until Oct 31, with 20 “buy one get one free” quota per cruise. Hong Kong residents who are 18 years old or above and have received at least one dose of vaccination can claim the offer by registering through the hotline 2994 8155.

This is the second Victoria Harbour cruise tour run by Chu Kong Shipping Enterprises (Group) Company Ltd. Also centered around the Symphony of Lights, its Hong Kong Water Taxi tour — on a smaller vessel — is priced from HK$48.
