HONG KONG – A farewell ceremony was held as Hong Kong bid farewell to around 400 Chinese mainland medical professionals who have been in the city for almost two months to treat COVID-19 patients.

The medical workers from 25 Guangdong hospitals have arrived in Hong Kong in three batches as the city’s anti-pandemic fight reached the most critical juncture in March, recording over 10,000 new cases every day.

They have been working with their local counterparts to take care of confirmed patients in the community treatment facility at AsiaWorld-Expo. More than 1,200 COVID-19 patients have since received their treatment and were discharged from the facility.
