HONG KONG – Hongkong Post announced Thursday it will issue special stamps next month to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the Hong Kong, China delegation at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Scheduled for launch on Oct 28, the issuance comprises a commemorative stamp sheetlet containing a set of five newly designed stamps, showcasing the events of fencing, swimming, table tennis, karate and track cycling – where Hong Kong athletes bagged medals at this year's Games. All of the Hong Kong Olympic medalists will also be featured in the commemorative stamp sheetlet.

The Tokyo Games was held in Japan from July 23 to Aug 8. Hong Kong athletes achieved the city's best results at the Games, claiming a total of six medals, including one gold in fencing, two silver medals in swimming, and three bronze medals in table tennis, karate and track cycling, respectively.

Hongkong Post said it is also planning another stamp issue to commemorate the achievements.
