HONG KONG – Members of the public can use most leisure and sport facilities under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department for free on July 1 as part of the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Facilities available for free use include indoor and outdoor leisure facilities, such as badminton courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, sport climbing walls, bowling greens, golf facilities, fitness rooms, dance rooms  etc.

Public swimming pools and craft at water sports centers will also be free of charge.

Each person can only book one free session irrespective of the type of leisure facility. Overbooking will be declined automatically by Leisure Link, said the Leisure and Cultural Services Department

Meanwhile, the Leisure Link booking counter services at Tuen Mun Recreation and Sports Centre and water sports centers/holiday camps will start from 7:30 am and 8:30 am, respectively.

No prior booking is required for public swimming pool facilities. Simmers may line up at the entrances of the swimming pools for free admission.

The department reminds members of the public to arrive on time and make the best use of the booked facilities. If they fail to take up a booked session 10 minutes after the starting time, the facility will be reallocated to walk-in participants, it said.
