HONG KONG – Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 3.63 percent to close at 19,968.38 points on Thursday, its biggest jump in nearly four months in a shortened trading session.

The morning trading was suspended due to a typhoon.

The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index, a benchmark that reflects the overall performance of the Chinese mainland securities listed in Hong Kong, gained 4.31 percent to end at 6,848.89 points.

The Hang Seng Tech index, which represents the 30 largest technology companies listed in Hong Kong, rose 6.01 percent to close at 4,268.54 points, its biggest one-day percentage gain in nearly four month.
