To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the Hong Kong Cross-Strait Hakka Research Center held a seminar on Wednesday on the contributions of the Hakka people to the Party’s centenary achievements.

The seminar, held both online and offline, was attended by Yang Liuchang and Zeng Fanxin, director-general and deputy director respectively of the Department of Taiwan Affairs in the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; and representatives from various sectors from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Ricky Tsang Chi-ming, vice-chairman of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, delivered the opening speech. Li Jianzhu, director of the Hong Kong Cross-Strait Hakka Research Center, officiated at the panel discussion, and Kwok Wai-fung, editor-in-chief of China Review News Agency, gave the concluding speech.
