HONG KONG – Hong Kong residents on Thursday cheered and welcomed the Hong Kong, China delegation to the Tokyo Olympic Games, as members of the delegation paraded along Nathan Road and Canton Road to celebrate their triumphant return from the Games.

Coaches and athletes – including swimmer and silver medalist Siobhan Haughey, karate exponent and bronze medalist Grace Lau and table tennis players Doo Hoi-kem, Lee Ho-ching, and Minnie Soo, who bagged bronze – set off from Hung Hom in two open-top buses. They proceeded along Nathan Road and toured through Canton Road near Harbour City before arriving at the Xiqu Centre of the West Kowloon Cultural District, where they attended a welcome home ceremony.

The event is jointly organized by the HKSAR government and the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China.

Hong Kong had its best Olympics in history this year, claiming one gold, two silvers and three bronzes at the Tokyo Games.
