HONG KONG – Thirty-six high-achieving young women in Hong Kong were honored on Friday at this year’s Golden Bauhinia Women Entrepreneur Awards.

Established by the Golden Bauhinia Women Entrepreneur Association, the awards are a recognition of the societal contributions of accomplished female entrepreneurs, and aim to empower women to chart their career course and to raise social consciousness concerning “gender equality and diversity”.

The awards acknowledge female achievers who are visionary, gritty, and intrepid enough to be their own boss and who have given more than their fair share of inputs into a range of sectors, including arts and culture, philanthropy, sustainability, and technology and innovation, to name a few.

This year's awards were supported by a prominent panel of judges who are seasoned and insightful leaders. Among them are Bernard Chan, undersecretary for the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau; Maggie Chan, president of the All-China Women’s Federation Hong Kong Delegates Association Limited; and Pansy Ho, chairperson of the Hong Kong Federation of Women.
