HONG KONG – Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu started his visit to Beijing by attending the closing meeting of the first session of the 14th National People's Congress on Monday morning.
In the afternoon, Lee met with members of the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in China (HKCCC) to learn more about the development of Hong Kong enterprises in the Chinese mainland, according to a Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government statement.
Lee said he believes more Hong Kong residents and businessmen will pursue their careers in the mainland and proactively grasp the opportunities brought about by national development
Over the years, the HKCCC has been supporting the governance of the HKSAR government, uniting Hong Kong people and enterprises in the mainland, and providing assistance to Hong Kong businessmen in exploring business opportunities and developing their businesses in the mainland, showing the chamber's care and support for Hong Kong, Lee said.

With the full resumption of normal travel between Hong Kong and the mainland, Lee said he believes more Hong Kong residents and businessmen will pursue their careers in the mainland and proactively grasp the opportunities brought about by national development.
Lee said he hoped that the chamber will continue to assist Hong Kong residents and offer valuable advice on facilitating their development in the mainland.
Lee also hoped that the HKCCC will promote to the world Hong Kong's unique advantages of enjoying the strong support of the motherland and being closely connected to the world under "one country, two systems", telling the good stories of Hong Kong.

Lee will start calling on various central ministries on Tuesday. He will return to Hong Kong on March 18.
