About 150 students from Hong Kong, Macao and Shenzhen recently took part in the Cafea Young Talent Smart City Forum to present their ideas and projects, contributing to the smart-city development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu said the Cafea Young Talent Smart City Forum provides valuable opportunities for students in the three cities to communicate, strengthen friendships and participate more in the development of the Greater Bay Area

Award-winning projects by Hong Kong students include a smart water purification system, smart storage solutions, smart school campus discussions and a prototype tutorial to investigate the application of metaverse technology in education.

In a letter to the two-day forum, held on Friday and Saturday at Cyberport, Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu said the event provides valuable opportunities for students in the three cities to communicate, strengthen friendships and participate more in the development of the Greater Bay Area.

The forum, hosted by Cafea Smart City Ltd, is an international academic forum customized for secondary school students. It also invites government officials, academic and industry heavyweights to provide guidance to build an influential and innovative platform for the youths to learn, display and exchange the achievements of smart-city development.
