HONG KONG – Hong Kong shares tracked small gains by Asian peers ahead of the festive season, as further relaxations in COVID-19 curbs in the Chinese mainland marginally improved investor confidence.

The Hang Seng Index edged up 0.34 percent to 19,160.49 points while the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index rose 0.43 percent to 6,500.18 points.

Tech giants advanced 0.7 percent. HSBC up 1.6 percent, led the gains on the benchmark index.
