SHANGHAI – Hong Kong stocks ended the morning session higher on Friday.

The Hang Seng Index and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index rose 0.5 percent to 21,150.73 and 0.7 percent to 7,216.59, respectively.

For the week, the Hang Seng benchmark has added 7 percent to reach a six-month high.

Tech giants listed in Hong Kong added 0.6 percent, with Alibaba and Tencent up more than 2 percent each.

The Hang Seng Mainland Properties Index rose 2.3 percent after the mainland established a dynamic adjustment mechanism on mortgage rates for first-time home buyers, in a bid to further support the property sector.
