SHANGHAI – Hong Kong stocks ended roughly flat on Wednesday.
Both the benchmark of Hang Seng Index and the Hang Seng China Enterprise Index edged up 0.2 percent. The Hang Seng Index ended up at 20,644.28, while the Hang Seng China Enterprise Index 7,089.29.
The Hang Seng Tech Index, which had jumped roughly 14 percent over the past week, slid 0.3 percent.
Hong Kong-listed property shares rose 0.8 percent on news that more Chinese banks have reduced mortgage rates for first-time home buyers.
Gains in energy and industrial shares were offset by losses in IT stocks.
