HONG KONG – Principal officials of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on Monday visited grass-roots families and distributed blessing bags in celebration of the Chinese New Year.  

Deputy Secretary for Justice Cheung Kwok-kwan together with a number of POs visited the Wong Tai Sin District and chatted with the households to understand their daily needs, according to a government statement. 

The visits are part of the Chinese New Year Home Visit Programme coordinated by the Home Affairs Department

The visits were part of the Chinese New Year Home Visit Programme coordinated by the Home Affairs Department, it added.

Accompanied by the District Officer (Wong Tai Sin) Steve Wong, Cheung, Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Alice Mak Mei-kuen visited a grass-roots family and elderly people in Lok Fu Estate, Wong Tai Sin.

Secretary for Health Lo Chung-mau together with Acting Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Lillian Cheong Man-lei also visited the elderly singletons living in the estate.

The POs visited the elderly and grass-roots families in different districts from January 21 to 23 and delivered the Chinese New Year blessing bags and seasonal greetings to the households.
