HONG KONG – Hong Kong’s men’s foil team won bronze at the 14th National Games on Monday, bringing the city’s medal tally to five.

The team comprising Cheung Siu-lun, Ryan Choi Chun-yin and Yeung Chi-ka defeated Jiangsu 45-36 to secure the medal.

It is the second time that Hong Kong athletes won a medal in the same event since the previous National Games

Hong Kong Secretary for Home Affairs Caspar Tsui Ying-wai extended his congratulations to the team.

“Going through tough training, the athletes performed outstandingly at the National Games and achieved excellence for Hong Kong. People of Hong Kong will take pride in them. I wish Hong Kong athletes success in the following competitions," Tsui said in a statement.

Hong Kong has so far claimed one gold and four bronze medals in this year's National Games
