HONG KONG – Hong Kong reported two new imported COVID-19 cases on Friday, pushing the city's infection tally to 12,049.

The fresh cases involved a 53-year-old man who arrived from Germany, and a 30-year-old female who traveled from Russia, according to a statement by the Centre for Health Protection (CHP). Both patients were asymptomatic.

The man, who resides at One-Eight-One Hotel and Serviced Residences, was fully vaccinated with the Corminaty vaccine in Hong Kong in May. His blood specimen tested positive for anti-spike protein antibody on July 13 in Hong Kong.

The female patient was also fully vaccinated, having received two doses of Russia's Sputnik V shot in July.

According to the CHP, 45 cases had been reported in Hong Kong from Aug 6 to Aug 19, including one local case with unknown sources.
