HONG KONG – The National Security Department of the Hong Kong Police Force on Monday arrested two men on suspicion of publishing posts on social media platforms to disseminate seditious messages, fostering enmity in Hong Kong society and inciting the use of violence.

Aged 34 and 36, the duo were arrested in Wan Chai and Central for doing an act or acts with seditious intention in contravention of sections 9 and 10 of the Crimes Ordinance.

Official investigations also revealed that the 36-year-old man had taken indecent photos of an individual and posted them on social platforms, according to a government press release

He was suspected of voyeurism and publication of images originating from commission of voyeurism, contravening sections 159AAB and 159AAD of the ordinance.

Police conducted searches at the residences and offices of the two men with a court warrant.

Communication devices used to publish seditious messages and indecent photos were also seized during the raids.
