HONG KONG – The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region will hold a flag-raising ceremony on Oct 1 to mark the National Day.
Police will implement special traffic arrangements to facilitate the flag raising ceremony in Wan Chai North, which will be implemented from 00:01 am Thursday night to noon on Oct 1, according to a government press release.
Road closure
The roads which will remain closed, except for vehicles with permit, are Expo Drive, Expo Drive Central, Expo Drive East, the slip road leading from Central-Wan Chai Bypass to Expo Drive; and eastbound Lung Wo Road between the Wan Chai portal of Central-Wan Chai Bypass and Fleming Road.
In addition, westbound Lung Wo Road between the Wan Chai portal of Central-Wan Chai Bypass and Fleming Road; and the slip road leading from westbound Convention Avenue to westbound Lung Wo Road will be closed from 5:30 am to noon on Oct 1.
Traffic diversions
Traffic along eastbound Lung Wo Road heading for Fleming Road and Convention Avenue must turn right to southbound Lung Hop Street or enter eastbound Central-Wan Chai Bypass for Island Eastern Corridor.
Meanwhile, traffic turning right from northbound Lung Hop Street to eastbound Lung Wo Road can only enter eastbound Central–Wan Chai Bypass.

Traffic along westbound Convention Avenue destine for westbound Lung Wo Road must turn left to southbound Fleming Road, via northbound Fleming Road, westbound Harbour Road, Fenwick Pier Street roundabout, westbound Fenwick Pier Street and northbound Lung Hop Street from 5:30 am to noon on Oct 1.
The coach parking spaces and pick-up/drop-off area at Expo Drive and Expo Drive East will be suspended.
Vehicles found illegally parked within the precincts of special traffic arrangements will be towed away without prior warning or subject to multiple ticketing.
