Due to the buoyant demand, however, the giveaway campaign ended less than three hours after it started this morning, Cathay Pacific Airways told China Daily Hong Kong.

With Hong Kong International Airport-provided express ferry services, Greater Bay Area passengers can board their flights upon arrival without having to go through entry formalities in Hong Kong. Four express ferry terminals, including Shekou in Shenzhen and Pazhou in Guangzhou, are currently open to the public, which is expected to encourage Greater Bay Area residents to participate in the giveaway activities.

Ctrip data indicate that, as of May 16, the number of air ticket bookings from the Chinese mainland for the summer holiday has surpassed that of the same period in 2019, and Hong Kong is the top destination outside the mainland.
