HONG KONG – An art exhibition with the theme “Continuing the Past and Forging the Future” opens at Hong Kong Central Library on Friday to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong’s handover to its motherland.

The art exhibition displays the 25-year history of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region through artists’ paintings, as well as their ideas during the pandemic era, and their wish for the city to overcome the challenges and welcome a brighter future.

The exhibition, along with other interactive talks and activities, aims to enrich residents’ knowledge and interest in the arts. It was co-initiated by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Hong Kong Member Association, the Hong Kong Artists Association, and the China Artists Association Hong Kong Chapter, and sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Arts pieces from over 200 contemporary artists versed in traditional Chinese painting, Western painting, sculpture, and digital art will be showcased through June 29.
