HONG KONG – Hong Kong police said on Saturday that they had arrested three more people in relation to the suspected murder of a 30-year-old woman in Yuen Long.

A 25-year-old man surnamed Ng was arrested early Friday morning after he was spotted transporting a woman’s body along Tin Ha Road.

Gary Lam Hing-cheung, assistant district commander (crime) (Yuen Long), told reporters on Saturday afternoon that the woman’s head was wrapped in cling film and there was blood stains on her clothes. Her hands and legs were tied.

There was a 1-cm wound on the back of her head and bruise marks throughout her body. Her legs were burnt by acid, according to Lam. She was certified dead at the scene and her boyfriend Ng was arrested subsequently.

Initial investigation revealed that the woman had been attacked in a unit on Tin Ha Road, where she lived with Ng. Post-mortem examinations will be conducted to ascertain the cause of her death, according to the police.

Two other men and another woman live in the same house with the couple but in separate rooms, Lam said. Police on Saturday arrested the trio on suspicion of preventing the lawful burial of a body, Lam added.

Police are investigating the motive and whether there had been an argument. They do not rule out any possibility for the time being, Lam said.
