HONG KONG – Eighteen COVID-19 cases were found in the compulsory testing exercises for the restricted areas in Tai Hang and Wong Tai Sin, the Hong Kong government said on Friday. 

It made restriction-testing declarations on Thursday to cover Lai Kit Lau of Lai Tak Tsuen in Tai Hang and Chi Mei House of Choi Hung Estate in Wong Tai Sin.

In Lai Kit Lau, around 932 people were tested and 14 tested positive for the virus there. 

At Chi Mei House, 1,100 people underwent testing. Four new positive cases and two indeterminate cases were found there.

The Centre for Health Protection said it will follow up on the cases.
